The present church was built in the early 1830s on the site of an earlier church and belongs to the Metropolis of Derkoi. It was restored in 1950, was damaged during the events of September 1955 and was repaired again in 1963. The church’s holy spring lies in the narthex. After a further renovation, it was consecrated on 19 October 2025.
