Who we are

The site belongs to the association «Εθελοντές για την Κωνσταντινούπολη» (ΕΘ.ΚΩ.), Voluntaries for Constantinople, a non-profit association based in Athens. Address: Kapodistriou 17, 152 37 Filothei, Greece. Tax ID (ΑΦΜ) 996581130, tax office ΚΕΦΟΔΕ Αττικής. The association’s email and phone are at the bottom of every page.

What the site contains

The site presents the community foundations (vakıf) of Istanbul, Imbros (Gökçeada) and Tenedos (Bozcaada), informs about the association, and accepts donations and membership fee payments.

The information about the institutions is based on published sources, which are listed on every page. We check it, but it may contain errors or be out of date. If you find an error, write to the association’s email. The association does not represent the institutions, the communities or the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

Donations

  • Donations support the association’s work as a whole. They are not earmarked for any particular institution or project.
  • Payment is made by card on the Viva page (VIVABANK BANKING S.A.), to which you are redirected from our site. Card details never pass through our site.
  • By submitting a donation you declare that you are an adult and that you are using your own card or a card you are authorised to use.
  • The donation is complete when Viva confirms the payment. We send a confirmation to the email you gave. Some payment methods are confirmed with a delay.
  • Nothing is shipped. Proof of payment is Viva’s email and our confirmation.
  • The tax consequences of a donation for the donor are the donor’s own responsibility. The association does not give tax advice.

Membership fees

  • Membership is decided by the Board of Directors following an application (statutes, article 4). The registration fee is paid after approval.
  • The registration fee and annual fee are shown on the “Get involved” page. Payment is made, as for donations, on the Viva page.
  • Paying a fee does not by itself create membership. Membership is acquired by decision of the Board of Directors.

Refunds

The rules for refunds are described in the refund policy.

The texts of the site belong to the association unless stated otherwise. Photographs come from third parties, under the licence shown below each of them, and are subject to its terms. The logo belongs to the association and may not be used without permission.

The site links to sources and other sites. We are not responsible for their content or policies.

Liability

We make every reasonable effort for the site to work correctly and for the information to be accurate. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation or the absence of every error.

Personal data

The processing of personal data is described in the privacy policy.

Changes to the terms

If the terms change, we publish the new version on this page with the date from which it applies. Payments already made are governed by the terms in force at the time of payment.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Greek law. For any dispute we first seek an amicable settlement through the association’s email. If that is not possible, the courts of Athens have jurisdiction.
