The Maraslis School building was built in 1901 at the expense of Grigorios Maraslis, mayor of Odessa. It stands in Fener, on the same street as the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and besides being a school it also served as a social centre for the Greek Orthodox community. It is a two-storey neoclassical building recalling an ancient temple, with columns, a triangular pediment and a raised entrance. A holy spring (ayazma) of Saint John the Forerunner lies inside the school.
The school no longer operates as a school. After a complete renovation, the building was blessed by the Ecumenical Patriarch on 10 June 2024 and is used for the needs of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and for cultural events.
