The church of the Nativity of the Virgin stands on Çırağan Street in Beşiktaş. According to the community, it is a basilica and was consecrated on 21 January 1830.
On 6–7 September 1955 the church was damaged and its roof burned; it was rebuilt from the foundations in 1957. It was renovated in 2000, when the chandeliers and electrical installation were repaired and the icons restored. Past the narthex, the holy spring of St Paraskevi is on the left and a chapel of the Dormition of the Virgin on the right. The courtyard is paved with a decorative pebble mosaic.
