The foundation comprises two churches in Makrochori (Bakırköy): St George and the cemetery church of the Ascension at Kartaltepe. According to Reşad Ekrem Koçu’s İstanbul Ansiklopedisi, the church of St George was built in 1832 by the gardeners of Makrochori. The same encyclopaedia, based on a visit in 1943, describes it as a small church with a square wooden bell tower, of which only the wall facing the street was of masonry. At that time the church held many donated icons from the 19th and early 20th centuries, among them an icon of St Panteleimon brought from the holy spring of Baruthane. Both churches are included in the 2017 list of Orthodox places of worship in operation.
